We commit to training and onboarding a minimum of 50 local merchants to confidently accept, hold, and transact in Bitcoin via the efficient Lightning Network. 📌 Building a grassroot Bitcoin Circular Economy since Oct 31, 2025. Powered by the legendary Nostr 💜 & Geyser communities. 📌 1.7M+ sats raised, 5 active✅ merchants onboarded, and Makueni is rapidly turning orange. 🧡https://geyser.fund/project/bitcoinmakueni 📌 How it started vs. How it’s going. On October 31st, 2025, we launched Bitcoin Makueni 🇰🇪 with a wild dream: turning our local economy orange.🍊🧡 Fast forward to today, we are actively doing the damn thing. How? Because pleb power hits different. 📌 Enter the Nostr & Geyser Legends. Through nothing but pure generosity from the Nostr community and our Geyser Fund campaign, you guys have stacked over 1.7 Million sats for Makueni.🇰🇪 Seriously, our notifications look like a purple lightning storm, and we love 💜 you for it. 📌 Where did the sats go? We didn't just sit on them. We turned those sats into real-world tools. We’ve printed custom "Bitcoin Accepted Here" posters featuring personalized Lightning Address QR codes, created beautiful merch, and distributed them to keep our merchants looking sharp. Makueni is officially turning orange. 🧡 📌 Bitcoin Makueni Circular Economy Event (Aug 17–18, 2026) On August 17th and 18th, 2026, we hit the ground running with the Bitcoin Makueni Circular Economy Event. We toured local shops, onboarded new merchants on the spot, and demonstrated real-world Lightning payments right in the heart of Makueni. From buying everyday groceries to printing documents, seeing sats move instantly in our own local economy proved that Bitcoin isn't just the future, it's actively working right here, right now. 📌 Shoutout to the Makueni Circular Economy Pioneers. Say hello to the 5 local legends officially accepting Bitcoin right now: 1. Mama Mwende Grocery Store 2. John Charles Kiosk 3. Mercy Printers Cyber 4. Down Town Cyber 5. Frasah Hotel 📌 Support the Circular Economy Movement. Want to help us crush our goal and keep the momentum alive?
